We aim to develop the children holistically and support each one at his/her individual pace and help them to realise their potential, through key persons liasing closely with parents, outside agencies and community.
There is a balance of child-initiated and adult-led experiences within the Early Years Foundation Stage activities. Planned activities are flexible and respond to each child’s individual learning styles, interests, needs and abilities.
Our Equal Opportunities Policy is promoted throughout the setting. Resources and activities are accessible to both boys and girls regardless of race, cultural ethnicity, faith, language and ability. We recognise that families have individual needs and we aim to cater for these. We respect dietary restrictions due to religious injunctions and practices. We value cultural diversity through learning by celebrating multi-cultural festivals and encourage the parents to contribute in the involvement of the setting’s agendas e.g. planning the children’s activities, festivals and celebrations, etc.
We send out newsletters to update parents on issues related to the nursery. Information for parents is displayed on the parents’ notice board. Parents can address issues face to face, by telephone, e-mail, and letters or use the ‘suggestion box’ that is situated in the front lobby.
Children are encouraged and supported in developing their self-esteem and confidence and independence as they go through the learning journey here thus making the transition from nursery to school as smooth as possible.
